Sync just works

Response times from support exceeded my expectations and the engineer who replied actually understood my setup. Export to a local git repository preserved history metadata so I have real version control over my notes. Pricing feels honest and the upgrade path from free to paid did not force me to re learn the interface.

Export options are fantastic

Offline mode genuinely works and I kept getting things done on a long flight with no internet connection at all.

Transfer speeds blew me away

Perfect for daily workflow in a way that very few tools achieve without demanding significant customization first. Response times from support exceeded my expectations and the engineer who replied actually understood my setup. Default color palette passes accessibility checks without any custom css which I did not expect from this tier.

Developer actually ships updates

File transfer speeds surprised me when moving a ten gigabyte archive between my two machines over the local network. Uptime has been rock solid for the entire year I have been paying for the professional tier.

VPN speeds are impressive

A quiet revelation to realize my morning startup script now takes seconds instead of the minute it used to require. Cross platform really means cross platform here and even the Linux build has feature parity with the Mac version.

Crashes constantly on mobile

No way to delete my data from their servers after cancellation despite a privacy policy that claims otherwise.

Fast enough for anything

Terminal integration lets me launch new sessions tagged by project which keeps my shell history clean and searchable. A clean separation between data and interface meant I could migrate between major versions without losing anything.

Unusable after update

Mobile app crashes immediately on open after any system update which locks me out of my own notes for days.

Buggy mess from launch to today and the team seems more focused on marketing videos than actual fixes.

Documentation lies about features

Shady affiliate links were inserted into my notes by an opt out setting that defaults to on without explanation.

No more context switching

Tags combined with filters give me a flexible organization system that beats the folder structure I abandoned. Several hidden shortcuts in the help menu transformed how fast I move through long documents.

API docs are top tier

Searching across attachments pulled quotes from pdf invoices as reliably as from plain text notes. Impressive onboarding did not drag on and left me with a working project rather than a tour of settings. Weekly updates ship real improvements rather than cosmetic changes which gives me confidence the team cares.

Login constantly times out

Imports lost every bit of formatting including code blocks and tables that were perfectly fine in the source file. My account was randomly suspended for terms of service violations the system refused to explain or document.

Encryption done right

Even on a six year old laptop this stays snappy and never spins up the fans like competing apps do. Export options cover every format I care about from markdown to rich text to a tidy pdf.

Documentation actually makes sense

Default export produces files I can archive without worrying about reading them a decade from now. Being open source gave me the confidence to self host once we grew past the hosted plan.

Worth every penny

Importing from an old competitor pulled every tag folder and attachment across cleanly within a few minutes. Keyboard driven palettes gave me the muscle memory of a terminal with the discoverability of a modern app.

Memory hog of the year

No offline mode in this day and age meant a cross country flight erased half a day of planned work. Performance on older hardware is a disaster because the developers apparently only test on brand new machines.

Love the integrations

Templates saved me hours this week alone because the project boilerplate matches our internal style guide exactly. Running this reduced average CPU usage on my laptop compared with the Electron based tool I used before. Pdf export preserved every heading hyperlink and footnote exactly as it looked in the editor pane.

Dark pattern everywhere

Promised cross device sync is marketed heavily yet works for text only while images and files stay stranded on their original devices. Terrible mobile editor loses my cursor position every time the keyboard dismisses which has caused countless lost edits.

Pricing feels honest

Easy on the eyes with sensible defaults for typography line height and contrast that work out of the box. Great sense of restraint in the feature set which keeps the sidebar from becoming the usual overwhelming menu wall.

Database queries feel instant

Dark theme uses proper contrast ratios so my eyes feel fine after an eight hour editing marathon. Tags combined with filters give me a flexible organization system that beats the folder structure I abandoned. Granular permissions let interns contribute without accidentally touching the production configuration files.

Keyboard first design wins

Context switching between tools used to kill my morning and this app absorbs most of those jobs cleanly. This holds its own against far more expensive incumbents while charging a fraction of their monthly price.

My daily workflow improved so much that I actually look forward to opening this instead of dreading another dashboard. Automations save my evenings since recurring reports now generate and ship themselves while I actually eat dinner. Mobile parity is real

No ads no popups no upsells inside my daily workflow and the pricing page is refreshingly straightforward. Native support for passkeys made me drop my password manager for everything inside this ecosystem.

Fine until the sync fails and the resulting duplicates take a long afternoon to clean up by hand. Billing surprise this quarter was not malicious but the plan page is confusing enough that it probably happens often.

No offline mode in 2026

Sync has been broken for months on at least one of my devices and the public status page refuses to admit it. Memory usage climbed past four gigabytes with a dozen notes open which crashed my browser tabs in parallel.
